Although I’d prepared myself for revelations that the people in these photos had gone on to do great things and possibly not-so-great things…or perhaps the couples depicted here were no longer together…I am struck by how many of them have passed away.
Publishing these photos has yielded many painful notifications from people I’ve never met.
I can’t help but feel like this project is a few years too late for many.
The discovery of these photos (decades in file cabinets and Rubbermaid tubs in my garage) has been amazing and a lot of fun.
I miss those times. I miss those places. I miss my friends and I’m sure many of us miss our youth.
